Something’s Rotten In The State Of Denmark ~ The AGW Follies

Copenhagen or, in Danish København, site of the Global Meeting International Assembly on Global Cooling Fraudulent Temperature Gradients (damn, my computer won’t let me make fun of the title of this shindig) Copenhagen Climate Change Conference (there, that’s it).

Denmark, home of Hans Christian Anderson, and the hero of Denmark Holger Danske, Copenhagen where The Little Mermaid sits in the Harbor (no, not the red headed heroine of the Walt Disney movie) of Copenhagen.

The World’s leaders (well, not all of them) gather to agree (well, not exactly, but they will meet to:

Pick One Of The Following:

  • Talk to each other
  • Bandy about with each other
  • Excoriate each other
  • Harangue each other
  • Ignore each other and scarf down munch on loads of caviar, gulp sip gallons of Champagne, oogle the hookers whores prostitutes sex workers, and maybe get some!

Seriously, this is going to be one hellish bit of statesmenship that will be fun to pick at because nothing will be accomplished except to put out a declaration that all can sign but that no one will honor.

My gosh, these folk will put an additional 41 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere; that is as much as a town of 143,000 people put into the air annually.  They are going to use 1200 limousines, most of them imported from Germany and Sweden.  All this for some 15,000 delegates, 5000 journalists (I wonder how many of them are AGW Fanatics?) and 98 world leaders?  All the top hotels are booked solid at 1000 dollars a night and with the pending protests, up to 4 or 5,000 individuals may get free lodging courtesy of the Danish Police.

This is not a climate summit, this is a disaster waiting to happen.  As the inestimable Instapundit says:  “I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people who tell me it’s a crisis start acting like it’s a crisis.”
