I received an e-mail from one of my very best friends!  His e-mail speaks for itself.   Here is Joe:

There are two things I have been dying to sound off on:

First, on health care, I haven’t heard anyone talking about this but we already provide health care for everyone in the US, even those without insurance.  There are these places called Federally Qualified Health Care clinics.  Anyone, regardless of ability to pay or nationality can be seen at one of these clinics.  They are in every community in the country practically.  Sometimes they actually provide the best health care money can buy because of innovative, hardworking, compassionate people.  As a psychologist, I’ve given some of my time to clinics like this.  I’ve encourage our local private sector to be more involved in these types of initiatives.  We as local healthcare providers understand our communities the best and can take care of the health-care solutions better than any centralized health-care program.  Yes, these programs take federal dollars but are run locally and have a great deal of latitude (currently) to do so.

Secondly, if the people (tea parties and/or communities) want to do something effective, why don’t we put referendums on ballots (at the national level that means amendments) that require our governments to pass balanced budgets and actually SAVE up 12 months of operational costs to help with negotiating transitions due to economic hard times or necessary budget overruns–(like defending our country)?  A part of the budget would always require that a percent go into SAVINGS and that it can never be tapped to go below the 12 month savings except in true emergencies.  If we required this of our governments maybe greedy, power-hungry people might flock to another profession, and we might start seeing true servants and statesmen (women) in office again.  Finally, we should elect independents who represent our coummunities and quit this two party system.  It is what has lead to us being divided and conquered.
