Likewise, I think efforts to get rid of the Electoral College are either misguided or disingenuous, on the part of those who are in favor of a majoritarian democracy. Federalism was designed to be a system of checks and balances to prevent a democratic tyranny. The Founders were well acquainted with the history of the ancient's experiments in democracy.
